Service of Dedication and Blessing for Audrey

Audrey was dedicated at our church, University Christian Church, on Nov. 20, 2011. She was happy as can be all morning, and seemed to enjoy her moment in the spotlight. As big brother, James got to stand up in front of the congregation with us. After the minister blessed Audrey, James looked up at me and said, "I want a turn!"




Those able to come celebrate with us were Nana, Aunt Karyn, Uncle David, Tristan, Isabella, Aunt Amanda, and Erin and Carter Williams. We had a wonderful day celebrating Audrey and introducing her to our Christian family.

Luke 18: 15-17 And they were bringing even their babies to Him so that He would touch them, but when the disciples saw it, they began rebuking them. But Jesus called for them, saying "Permit the children to come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all."

James' 1st "real" haircut

We have been cutting James' hair ourselves since he was 1, and we finally decided to take him to Cool Cuts to get a REAL haircut. We were expecting him to put up a pretty big fight, but I suppose sitting in a fire truck, watching a movie, and eating a sucker is a pretty good way to bribe a kid into cooperating.

Halloween 2011

The day before Halloween, we went to a small pumpkin patch and picked out some pumpkins. James had fun picking out one for each of us. He really likes to make things into a family, and there's always dada, mama, James and Audrey.

For Halloween, James was a Texas Ranger, Audrey was a baseball, and mama and dada were Ranger's fans. This was the best costume we could come up with for James because it is so close to regular clothes. James hates jackets, hats, and basically anything that's not just a shirt or pants.

James' first year to trick-or-treat was a success! He had no problem going door to door and saying trick-or-treat. He was so polite and grateful to each of our neighbors as they handed him candy.

Audrey gets her ears pierced

In mid-October, we took Audrey to get her ears pierced. She had no problem with the actual piercing, but she hated having us hold her head still during the whole process. It took both of us to hold Audrey still (and even then she wasn't very still), and she got madder by the second. As soon as the earrings went in and we could let go of her, Audrey was as happy as can be.

In early October, Cole (Warner) came over for an entire day while his dad (Matt) traveled for work and his mom (Lauren) worked. This might have been James' best day ever!

The day started with waffles and cartoons.

And then, digging in the dirt.

And if you're wondering what Audrey was doing during all of this... Two 2-year old boys in the house for an entire day is terrifying for a sweet baby girl!


Really, Audrey was just fine. I just caught her in a funny moment with the camera. We all had such a fun day with our little buddy, Cole!
