Father's Day

This Father's Day was extra special for Dave because it was also his birthday! For Father's Day, James got Daddy a gift card to Home Depot with the hope that Daddy would pick out a plant/ tree that they could plant together. For Dave's birthday, Mommy got him Ranger's baseball tickets for next weekend.

James is helping Daddy blow out his birthday candles.

A family photo.

Uncle Mike surprised us, and drove up to wash our cars as Dave's birthday present. Our cars are so clean! Mike worked so hard in the brutal heat and we are so appreciative. By the way, James is looking at Uncle Mike's hands because he was making fart sounds with them.

James loves water!

I took James swimming for the first time last week at the YMCA pool with my friend Erin and her daughter Carter, and James loved it! Almost too much though... he kept stepping off the steps or even the side of the pool into the water. I think he thinks he can swim. We stayed very close, and we had lots of fun!

So, after watering the lawn, James decided to come inside and vacuum the kitchen floor. What a sweetheart!

James' Fort Worth Birthday Party

We had a second birthday party for James at our house this past weekend. We had planned to be at the park, but the weather called for temperatures over 100 degrees, so we made a quick change. James had fun playing with his friends and showing off all his toys. He was not as big a fan of his birthday cupcake as he was at his other party. I think he had too many snacks leading up to cake time.

A monkey cake for our little monkey!

Family photo!

Erin is a very good friend of Mommy's. She is great with James, and James really loves her. Erin made the shirt that James is wearing. It came out really cute! Thank you, Erin! Erin's daughter, Carter, is the focus of James' affection whenever she is around. He is always hugging and kissing her.

Isabella's face is priceless here! She is such a cutie patootie!

There's the birthday boy!

Lauren with James. Lauren's son, Cole, couldn't come to the party because he has been sick. James missed him terribly!

Birthday Party in Buda

We had a birthday party for James on May 31 (2 days before his actual birthday) in Buda at the city park. James had quite a few guests... Nana, Uncle Robert and Jolie, Uncle Mike and Amanda, Stacey, the Ruckels, Dan and Julie, and Chris and Malinda. James had so much fun playing, and he really liked eating cupcakes for the first time (so much, he ate two)!

James is 1!

We can't believe it's already been 1 year since James was born! He has changed our lives in ways we never expected, and we love him so much!

James is doing so many fun things these days...
1) He waves "bye-bye" and sometimes says it too. He stands in the doorway every morning and waves to Daddy as he leaves for work.
2) He has 8 teeth!
3) He signs "more" when he wants more to eat.
4) He's very close to running.
5) When he wants your attention, he puts his face right in front of yours and laughs.
6) He shakes his head "no" at the appropriate times, and he thinks it's really funny.
7) He's a picky eater! The main staples in his diet are waffles, cereal bars, yogurt, cheese, fruit and grilled cheese sandwiches with guacamole.
8) He loves to play outside.
9) He points to tell us want he wants, whether it's something he wants to play with or somewhere he wants to go.
10) He can take his diaper off all by himself (not one of Mommy and Daddy's favorite tricks).
11) He loves to give hugs and kisses, even to random kids at the playground or at the store. He's very sweet and loving.

James is such a happy and friendly little boy! He has brought so much joy to us and we are so blessed that he is our son.
