Texas Ranger's baseball

Dave's favorite baseball team in the history of the world, the Texas Rangers, went to the World Series (again) this year! Unfortunately, they lost (again). But, the postseason did provide for a lot of fun for our family!

We took James to an ALDS game against the Rays, and he had so much fun! James got really into the Rangers during the playoffs, which was definitely a memorable time for Dave. I'm not sure if Dave has ever been prouder of our son! James has been known to break into the "Let's go Rangers" cheer in the middle of the grocery store, or in the middle of dinner, or while laying in bed trying to fall asleep. He also requests to watch baseball constantly, and it's hard to get him to go to bed if a game is on in the evening. We had to tell him a few times that the game was over and the Ranger's won when in reality the game was only half over.

We then got to take both kids to an ALCS game against the Tigers. We did not intend to take any kids to this game, but it was rescheduled due to rain, and our babysitter was no longer available. The kids had fun, and behaved fabulously especially considering that the game went into extra innings. The Ranger's won with a walk-off grand slam! What an amazing game, and great family fun!

Dave and I got to go (sans kids) to a World Series game against the Cardinals. We had a lot of fun watching the Rangers win again! Unfortunately, the Rangers couldn't hold on to their lead in St. Louis, and lost the World Series. There's always next year, right?

Blast from the past

I have a ton of pictures on my iPhone that I hadn't put on the blog because I didn't know how to get them on the computer. I also never asked, until yesterday. Dave does our iPhone updates, so it didn't even occur to me that transferring pictures to the computer would be so easy. So, here's a bunch of my favorite pictures of James from sometime just after his 1st birthday up to just before Audrey was born...

Standing and trains

About a week after Audrey turned 7 months old, I was going into her room to get her from a nap, and this is what I opened the door to:

I was definitely not expecting to find her standing in her crib! She was so proud of herself, and was smiling from ear to ear. Needless to say, Dave lowered her crib all the way down that evening. I looked back to see how old James was when he started doing this, and he was about a week older than Audrey, and I had posted a very similar picture of him standing in the crib for the first time.

Our children have not been lacking when it comes to toys, and the main reason they have been so fortunate is because of The Attel family. Dave works with Ed, and his wife Monica has been kind enough to think of us when she is trying to purge toys that her kids, Shawn and Erin, have grown out of. They recently gave us an Imaginarium which is a table that kids can use for legos, trains, cars, etc. We decided to get James a Thomas the Train set for it, and he LOVES it. He's always asking us to go to his room with him to play "train tracks". We're planning to expand the tracks at Christmas (actually, we were originally planning to wait until Christmas to get any train pieces, but we got excited and bought some early- like, right after we got the table. I don't even think we had it a day before we were searching Amazon for Thomas the Train stuff).

Rewind 2 months: 5 year wedding anniversary

On September 2nd, Dave and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary! What an eventful 5 years it has been! We got married (obviously), bought a house, had a baby, had another baby, and now here we are. Our life together has been absolutely amazing so far, but we're hoping the next 5 years are a little calmer, but equally or more wonderful.

We celebrated with a very nice dinner at Ruth Chris' Steakhouse. The steaks there are amazing! The restaurant decorated our table with little heart confetti, and our dessert plate was made in honor of our anniversary. We had a really nice evening. We are hoping to take a short trip to somewhere to celebrate this milestone, but it will most likely happen closer to our 6 year anniversary.

Happy anniversary Dave! Marrying you has been the best decision I've ever made! I love you!

Hello. We're still here.

I know I've written this a lot since Audrey was born, but time is absolutely flying by! I cannot believe it is already November! My Dad is having a knee replacement tomorrow, so I promised him I'd get the blog caught up so he'd have something to look at during his recovery. Here we go...
