James is walking!

James has taken lots of "first" steps in the past couple weeks, but we haven't been able to capture it on camera because James has performance anxiety as soon as the video camera is brought out. But, yesterday and today, James has been trying to walk everywhere. We finally got a video...

Afternoon at the park

It was a beautiful Spring day today, so we took James to a park just a couple miles away from our house.

James goes to a birthday party

This past weekend, James attended the 1st birthday party of his buddy, Cole Warner. James and Cole go way back... like 9 months. This was the first birthday party that James has ever attended and James is in need of some birthday etiquette training! The first thing he did when he saw Cole was pull his hair. Cole cried! James bullied the birthday boy! In James' defense, he likes to eat hair (weirdo), and Cole was the unfortunate head of hair that was in James' path. James was also very excited about Cole's presents. He was so excited, he tried to help Cole open them and then he tried to claim them for himself...

Fortunately, Cole is a good sport and didn't mind sharing (Cole, feel free to help James open his presents on his birthday)!

Happy 1st birthday Cole!

James is 9 months (and 1 week) old!

Time is definitely flying by with James in our lives! He is growing and developing so quickly. The biggest achievement that James' 9th month brought was taking steps! He will often take just one step, but on his 9 month birthday, he took 4 steps (he hasn't done it again since though)! James has been a little bit of a challenge to capture with the camera because he is constantly moving!

James' first artwork

On Monday mornings James stays in the childcare at our church for a couple hours while I attend a Bible study with other mommies. There are two wonderful ladies that care for James, and I am so grateful to have some time in the week for Christian fellowship. Today when I went to pick James up, I found a piece of construction paper in his diaper bag. It was James' first artwork!

Dear God...

...please let this car ride be over soon. Amen!

Cute James
