40 week update
James' due date has come and gone, and there's no sign yet that he's going to make his entrance into the world anytime soon. There was nothing new, and no changes at the doctor this week. I am scheduled to be induced on June 3rd if things don't happen on their own before then. We are so anxious and excited to meet our son, but we know we need to be patient and wait for the Lord's timing (as hard as that is sometimes). Hopefully our next post will be news of James' arrival and his first pictures!

39 week update
This week's doctor's visit was once again uneventful. There has been little to no progress towards labor. I am scheduled to be induced on June 3rd if James doesn't make an appearance on his own before then. I am not too excited about being induced as it raises the risk for a C-section. Although I am getting impatient for our son's arrival, I trust God's timing. Please pray for a safe and healthy delivery regardless of the means (on its own or induction).

38 week update and belly photo
My last doctor's appointment was uneventful. There were no changes to the progress that was discovered at my 37 week visit and all the usual things that are checked are still looking good. We are now just waiting for James to make his appearance! I go back to the doctor next Friday, if James doesn't come first.
Girls weekend/ baby shower
This weekend, I went up to Crossroads, Texas to spend the weekend with 7 of my girlfriends from physical therapy school. Since we graduated 4 years ago, we have made every effort to get together for wedding showers, bachelorette parties, weddings and baby showers. These girls have been such a blessing to me. I always look forward to spending time with them, and our visits are always so refreshing and fun. This weekend, we were celebrating the hopefully soon arrival of James!

Nursery
I've had several people ask for updated pictures of James's nursery, so here they are. To see more detail in each picture, click on each photo and a larger picture will come up. Keep in mind the room is not very large, so it's difficult to show more than 1 corner or wall at a time. Also, the crib currently in the room belongs to my sister, Karyn. We found out a few weeks ago that we'll have to return it before the end of the year because my sister is about 9 weeks pregnant!! She is due December 13th. We are so excited that James will have a cousin only about 6 months younger than him!

37 week update (a little late)
At my appt. on Friday, we got to see James via a sonogram again. His weight estimate is now 6 lbs. 12 oz. That's a big difference from last week! The doctor said the estimate can be off by a pound in either direction. The good news is, there was difference from week to week, so he's definitely growing. I had all the usual things checked... urine, weight, blood pressure, and baby's heart rate. Again, all was good. The doctor is now checking my cervix each week. Last week there was no progress, but this week I am 2 cm. dilated and 60-70% effaced. My doctor said she'll either see me in Labor and Delivery sometime this week, or at my next appointment next Friday. We took from that, that James could be here anytime!! We can't wait to meet him!
Happy Mother's Day!
My husband is the sweetest man alive! I love him so much! Yesterday, Dave left the house to go running and came back about 45 minutes later. After he'd been back a few minutes, he told me he thought I'd left something out in the backyard... this seemed strange because I didn't remember going out in the backyard, but with my memory these days, I wouldn't put it past me. On our back doorstep was a dozen roses and a card. Dave had run to the grocery store with his wallet in tow, and bought me some flowers and a card, and walked all the way back with them. He then snuck around the back of the house and put them at the back door. I was completely oblivious as I was watching a movie on TV. The crazy thing is, we had several of the windows open because it was a nice day. Dave is very sneaky! I know technically, I'm not a mom yet, but Dave's card was very sweet and encouraging and basically said he knows I'll be a good mom. I hope so!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms out there we know. We have so many friends and family celebrating their first Mother's Day today. And of course, we have friends and family that are veteran moms. We love you all! You are beautiful!
